It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved cat Serena, who left us yesterday, at 18 years of age, after a long battle with kidney disease.
We liked to say she was the personification of love — a pure and true love, but only on her own terms.
Serena was our nurse. She cared for all of us like a guardian angel. With an unparalleled sensitivity, she comforted each of us in moments of illness, sadness, or exhaustion.
She received our best and also saw our worst, and yet, she never turned away. More than forgiveness, she offered us support and a silent understanding.
She completed her cycle with a dedication and mastery that will leave a mark on us forever. She departed on a rainy day, September 22nd, at 2:40 PM, at home, surrounded by those who loved her so much.
We hope that, wherever she may be, her virtues are recognized and that she feels proud of us.
We will carry her wise gaze and the comfort of her purr in our hearts forever. Farewell, our dear nurse.
